BusinessWeek's Credit Advice/Improving Your Score.
From the BusinessWeek Article:
"These days, your credit history and credit score are the center of your financial life.
"These days, your credit history and credit score are the center of your financial life.
Your credit score governs whether you can get a mortgage, home equity loan or line of credit, and how much you'll pay for that mortgage. It also governs whether a company will insure you and how much you'll pay as your premium. And many employers will pull a copy of your credit history before making you an offer for employment. If your credit history is tarnished, you might find job offers evaporating."

Watch where your credit card payments are going.
Is this happening to you?
"This means that credit card companies can apply minimum payments to balances with the lowest interest rates first, which many are doing. A Special Report from the San Francisco Chronicle.
This is an excellent article on the importance of monitoring your credit.
This is unbelievable! See below:
"A 2007 Zogby poll showed that 37 percent of Americans have discovered incorrect information on their credit reports. Half of these people were unable to repair the damage. According to a January 2009 study by the National Consumer Law Center, about 25 percent of Americans have had their credit so damaged by such mistakes that they've had significant difficulty with credit-related transactions."

Secrets to help you manage your credit Jennifer Waters's Consumer Confidential - MarketWatch
A great primer on the importance of good credit these days.
"Turns out our scores are not just a reflection of our ability, or lack thereof, to pay on time, but they tell a story of how we run our lives. If there's a blip in that story, say a 30-day late payment, the red flags pop up and all those years of paying dutifully can fall flat quickly."
